February

  • 02/01/2024: William Started February off with a bang as he started the day by throwing up. But no ER trip required, which was a huge improvement from previous illnesses.

  • 02/09/2024: Started Myofunctional therapy. Learn more about Myofunctional in the resources page!

  • 02/12-16/2024: Another intensive with Erin at Sound Movement Services.

  • 02/14/2024: More Hyaluronidase injections into William's tight shoulder muscles.

  • 02/15/2024: William had a vision appointment. We are seeing improvement in his CVI, but he may need glasses come his next appointment in the fall due to his astigmatism. We are praying we will see improvement at his next appointment in October.

  • 02/15/2024: Talked with Dr. Pawluk about PEMF use for William. William is currently doing PEMF therapy with Dr. Bor, but we hope to have one at home some day

  • 02/16/2024: Started working with an Agency for attendant care and respite care for William

  • 02/19/2024: We met Shaley a friend of a friend, who became William's respite care provider.

  • 02/23/2024: Jessine Completed training to be paid as William's care attendant through the state. Huge blessing!! God is so good!

  • 02/26-03/01/2024: Another intensive with Erin at Sound Movement Services.

In the month of February we completed 14 Hyperbaric Chamber dives and 37 appointments for William in total

  • 03/04/2024: William had an appointment with Dr. Bor.

  • 03/11-03/15/2024: Another intensive with Erin at Sound Movement Services.

  • 03/23-03/26/2024: Home Intensive with CranioSacral Fascia Therapist Charity Spears. Learn more about Charity on the resources page.

In the month of March we completed 6 Hyperbaric Chamber dives and 29 appointments for William in total

April

  •  04/04-11/2024: We were fortunate to enjoy a wonderful trip to the beach and Disneyland, thanks to my parents and brother. They truly spoil us! Travis' parents also joined us for the Disneyland portion of the trip, which made it extra special.

  • 04/13/2024: Sadly, after our fantastic vacation, reality struck hard when William became very ill. We ended up in the ER with William running a 104-degree fever.

  • 04/18/2024: William's fever eventually turned into a severe cold, and he refused to eat. Multiple urgent care visits and syringing liquids into his mouth for several days kept him out of the hospital, but it was heart-wrenching to watch him suffer. He hated the syringes and would scream every time. We had to do this every 15 minutes to keep him hydrated.

  • 04/22-05/02/2024: We had a feeding intensive with Nancy from New Jersey Pediatric Feeding Associates.

  • 04/29/2024: William had to undergo a tongue tie release/revision (it was initially done when he was a month old, but it reattached) and two buckle cheek ties released. It was an incredibly difficult experience as William had to be strapped down. All I could do was pace the halls, praying fervently that it wouldn't trigger a seizure. Thankfully, it did not!

April was an exceptionally tough month. We completed 12 feeding sessions with Nancy, made 1 ER trip, and had 2 urgent care visits. The tongue tie procedures, along with the ER and urgent care visits, caused significant trauma for William. We also had to perform six weeks of tongue stretches to prevent the tie from reattaching. William would scream every time, breaking our hearts even more as we tried to help our poor baby.

May

  • 05/01/2024: Just two days after William's tongue release, he received PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) treatment. It was such a blessing to see our favorite doctor, Dr. Proefrock! He is always so encouraging and lifts our spirits, even in the midst of chaos.

  • 05/02/2024: William had a Hyperbaric Chamber appointment to help the PRP penetrate deeper into his brain, aiming to heal the injured areas.

  • 05/08/2024: We had appointments scheduled with Erin at Sound Movement Services, but William unexpectedly threw up. We’re starting to notice a pattern: about a week after receiving Stem Cells or PRP, William throws up. We don't know why this happens yet. On the same day, William received Hyaluronidase injections in his shoulders and hamstrings to alleviate muscle stiffness and tone. This enzyme works similarly to botox but is more natural and lacks the associated side effects

  • 05/10/2024: Appointment with Erin at Sound Movement Services.

  • 05/14/2024: We had a follow-up appointment with Dr. Agarwal to check on William's tongue tie healing. While it was healing well, we suspected it was starting to reattach. William has such high muscle tone that, despite our best efforts, the tongue sometimes reattaches. It was very discouraging for us.

  • 05/17/2024: During a DMI evaluation with Erin Denny, we realized just how traumatized William was from April's experiences. We couldn't even lay him on the therapy table without him screaming.

  • 05/30-31/2024: We tried to have William's CFT therapist work on him to release some tension and trauma in his body, but it proved futile as William screamed whenever she touched him.

In May, we completed 14 Hyperbaric Chamber dives and attended 22 appointments in total. It was another challenging month, as we had to continue William's tongue stretches and watch our baby become more traumatized. All we could do was ask the Lord to guide us in helping him heal from the trauma.

June

  • 06/01/2024: We started June with a funeral. Randy Shaw, a gentleman we didn't get to know as well as we wished, passed away. Despite our limited time together, Randy was very special to us. He was undergoing cancer treatment at Dr. Proefrock's office, where we saw him several days a week. Even though he was extremely sick, he always managed to smile at William and me. When Randy stopped his treatment at Dr. Proefrock's office, he transferred the remaining $2,000 in his account to William's account. It was an incredible act of kindness and a blessing we will never forget. Learn more about Randy Shaw's generosity â€‹

  • 06/03/2024: We returned to Dr. Bor's office, a decision we had prayed over because we were unsure how William would react to being in a medical office again. However, we knew we needed to help him move forward from April's traumatic events. Praise be to God, as William did incredibly well at Dr. Bor's office! He fussed a little, but he didn't scream, even when we placed him on the table.

  • 06/05/2024: Dr. Proefrock conducted an ultrasound on William's torn shoulder muscle and we found out that it has healed! This is a huge blessing! We do need to keep an eye on the fluid in his shoulders for now.

  • 06/11/2024: We had a follow-up appointment with William's neurologist after six months. She was incredibly impressed with William's progress! She noted significant improvement in his trunk and head control, which delighted her. William looked so good that once again, she had no recommendations for us at this time, which was incredibly encouraging. She did mention that sometimes at age 2, they recommend another MRI (something Travis and I plan to avoid unless it's an emergency). However, the neurologist agrees with us that it's unnecessary as William continues to improve and shows no signs of regression, by God's grace! Because William's doing so good she pushed out our next appointment to 9 months!! God is good!

  • 06/11/2024 On the 11th William also had a cranial sacral appointment with Carol. Carol worked on William secretly, which kept him from fussing.

  • 06/13-15/24: We were able to do a home intensive with Charity, William's Cranial Sacral Fascia therapist, to help William recover from the trauma, and William did amazing!

  • 06/17-21/2024: Travis and I took William down to Tucson for the week for an intensive session with Jon Martinez at Your Movement Matters. Jon was incredible to work with! He understood how to work with William, and we noticed significant improvement in William's overall tone. Normally, William cries or fusses when a new therapist touches him (and recently, he's been reacting this way with all therapists, whether he knows them or not), but he didn't cry with Jon! This is a testament to Jon's skill. By the end of the week, Jon was able to work with William on his table without William fussing. The trip was such a blessing and encouragement to Travis and me. We also had the opportunity to spend time with another mom, my friend Shawna, and her amazing boy, Zay. We plan to continue working with Jon!

The month of June was full of encouragement for us as William started to heal from the trauma and received wonderful reports from his neurologist. God is good! We completed 28 appoints this month.
